The Foundation
Tony Tascona (1926-2006)

In 1993, the Manitoba Hospice Foundation commissioned a piece from renowned artist Tony Tascona in recognition of his artistic experience and his respect for the hospice/palliative care philosophy.

The Foundation is from a series of works, one that reflects his impression gathered while traveling in Arizona. Tascona has said he was inspired by the shifting planes between sky, clouds, mountains and the support system of huge cacti growing in the desert.

Through Tascoma’s eyes, The Foundation is an image uniting earth and sky. For hospice and palliative care, The Foundation is comfort and care for people who are dying.

Only 100 limited-edition serigraphs were created.
