On August 29, 1983, Manitoba Hospice Foundation was incorporated with the mission of supporting the terminally ill in Manitoba and promoting hospice palliative care awareness. Four decades later, Palliative Manitoba and its 160+ volunteers provide support, education, advocacy and resources to the dying and bereaved, their caregivers and families province-wide and we’re celebrating in a BIG way!

We are thrilled to announce the amazing folks at Johnston Group and Payworks have joined forces and will match any gift to the 40th Anniversary Campaign, up to $20,000 for a total of $40,000* in honour of our 40th!

And three brand new events have been scheduled to help the community celebrate along with us!

Thank you to everyone who helped kick off our 40th Anniversary by ‘Seeding our Future’ and purchasing their spring seeds at Ron Paul Garden Centre in support of Palliative Manitoba’s Endowment Fund.

This spring we will hold our very first Butterfly Release in memory of those loved ones who have died. 50 butterflies will be made available to reserve for a donation to the campaign beginning April 11th and donors are invited to Bruce Park on June 29th to release their butterfly in memory of their family member or friend.

Join us October 26th at the Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg for an anniversary celebration like no other. Featuring the artistic talents and culinary delights of the Philippines, the Ukraine and Indigenous cultures, this event is sure to outshine anything else this fall! Stay tuned for more details!

*40th Anniversary Campaign funds will be endowed at The Winnipeg Foundation.
